Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s intervention for the early clearances by the Union Cabinet for Hyderabad Metro Phase 2 from the Urban Development Department to give clearances, besides Semiconductor, Defence Sector and other industries in Telangana.
After the NITI Aayog Governing Council meeting on Saturday, he met PM Modi and appealed for his support towards various pending projects in Telangana. He requested that financial and cabinet clearances be given simultaneously for the northern and southern parts of RRR.
He said that the state government is ready to bear 50 percent of the cost of land acquisition for the southern part of RRR. He said proposals have been submitted for the expansion of Metro Phase-2, and there are 5 corridors in Phase-2, totaling 76.4 km, and this is a project to be undertaken jointly by the Center and the State, with a total cost of Rs. 24,269 crore.
The CM informed the Prime Minister that the land acquisition for the northern part of RRR started in 2022 and the state is bearing 50 percent of the cost of this land acquisition. He said that the proposals related to 90 percent of the lands have been sent to NHAI and NHAI has also called for tenders.
CM Revanth appealed to Prime Minister Modi to take up the southern part of RRR simultaneously with the northern part of RRR. The CM stated that the current ORR will not be sufficient in the next 5 years and more than one lakh vehicles are already plying on the ORR daily.
He appealed that if the southern part of the RRR is constructed after the northern part is completed, there is a risk of a huge increase in land acquisition and construction costs, therefore, it will be properly utilized if both parts are completed together.
CM Revanth said that a railway line has been proposed in a 370 km area parallel to the Regional Ring Road. He appealed to sanction a green field highway from Bandar Port to Hyderabad Dry Port. He said that Telangana produces 35 percent of the medicines in the country, and the Bandar Port-Dry Port Green Field Highway will reduce the cost of freight transportation and will be a boon for exports.
CM Revanth Reddy has appealed to Prime Minister Modi to support the semiconductor sector. He said that Telangana is fully supporting the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM). He said that land, skilled human resources and infrastructure are available for industries in Hyderabad.
He said that the Centre should approve the Telangana ISM project, which will create confidence among investors and create jobs, and will contribute to the goal of reaching $ 500 billion in electronics production by 2030. CM Revanth appealed to the Prime Minister to support defense sector projects. He requested PM Modi to support defense sector projects in MSMEs and public-private partnerships in Hyderabad.
