Pawan Kalyan has always been known for his unique style of doing things both on screen and in politics. His charm gained him the legendary nickname “Power Star” of Telugu cinema, and now he’s leveraging that same charisma to revolutionize public service. Following the successful establishment of a strategic alliance with the TDP and BJP, Pawan was a key figure in Jana Sena’s resounding electoral success, which led to the ousting of the incumbent YSRCP government. Post this achievement, he accepted the roles of Deputy Chief Minister and headed important portfolios such as Panchayati Raj and Rural Development—portfolios that connect to his sincere interest in rural development and grassroots empowerment.
Breaking the conventional mold of political involvement, Pawan Kalyan has launched a new program titled “Mana Ooru Maata – Mana Maathi”. From May 22, the program will link him directly to villagers of Andhra Pradesh via live video conferencing, done from his camp office in Mangalagiri.
The uniqueness of this program lies in the fact that it employs cinema halls as interactive points. Rather than the traditional village tours, Pawan is taking villagers to congregate in local theatres where they can view and also respond to him on a large screen. At the same time, Pawan will interact with them directly from a specially arranged screen in his office. This method redefines the traditional “rachabanda” (village meeting) by combining new technology with accessibility in a manner that guarantees that people’s issues are heard and resolved quickly.
This video conferencing model not only saves valuable time and resources but also allows for more frequent, focused conversations with citizens without the need for travel. It is a creative way to leverage Pawan’s film industry experience—turning the silver screen into a platform for effective governance and direct dialogue.
The program’s first session will be held with villagers from Ravivalasa village in the Tekkali constituency of Srikakulam district. Approximately 300 residents are expected to participate at Bhavani Theatre, Tekkali, where they will connect with Pawan Kalyan via live video link. During the session, Pawan will listen to their issues firsthand and provide immediate guidance to government officials for speedy resolutions. Local Panchayati Raj and rural development departments have already made the necessary arrangements to ensure smooth execution.
With “Mana Ooru Maata – Mana Maathi,” Pawan Kalyan is setting a new example of political engagement—simple, accessible, and centered around the people. By transforming cinema theatres into interactive governance spaces, he is proving how technology and empathy can together bring meaningful change to even the remotest corners of the state.
