The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has entered into the AP Liquor Scam case that created a sensation in Andhra Pradesh. It has prepared the ground for registering a case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act. The ED has written a letter to the SIT head and Vijayawada Commissioner of Police, requesting them to provide documents for registering a case under the PMLA section.
The ED has said in its letter that it will investigate the case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002. The ED has sought details of the FIR No. 21/2024 registered by the CID officials in the liquor scam. The ED has asked for a certified copy of the FIR registered by the CID.
The Enforcement Directorate has asked for details of bank accounts and assets identified by the investigating officers so far as being related to this case. It has asked for details of the accused arrested so far in this case and remand reports to be provided to it.
It has also said that if a charge sheet is filed against the accused arrested in this case, copies of them should also be provided. The ED has asked for documents and information related to the investigation of this case.
Meanwhile, the SIT has already collected a lot of information regarding the liquor scam that is causing a lot of commotion in the state. Kasireddy Rajasekhar Reddy, the main accused in this case, and his PA Paila Dilip have been arrested.
It seems that they have been taken into custody and key information regarding the liquor scam has been obtained. Some more arrests have also been made in this case. The SIT officials, who have issued notices to many people in this case, have also questioned them.
Dhananjaya Reddy, Krishnamohan Reddy, and Govindappa Balaji, who are accused in the liquor scam case, sought interim protection from the AP High Court and the Supreme Court, but were disappointed. After the Supreme Court refused to grant them anticipatory bail, the SIT team started hunting for these three. They are intensively searching for them in Vijayawada and Hyderabad. But the SIT found that these three had switched off their cell phones.
