CM Revanth Reddy Takes Aim At KCR For Skipping Assembly And Misleading People

Friday, December 5, 2025

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy launched a scathing attack on BRS president and opposition leader K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), questioning his continued absence from the state Assembly and accusing him of misleading the public with false narratives about the Congress government.

Speaking at the Basaveshwara Jayanti celebrations held at Ravindra Bharathi in Hyderabad—where he also released the SSC results—Revanth expressed concern over KCR’s silence in the legislature. “Why is the opposition leader not attending Assembly sessions? Instead of addressing real public issues, he’s confined to his farmhouse and engaging in baseless political commentary,” he remarked.

Revanth Reddy didn’t mince words as he responded to KCR’s recent remarks at the BRS silver jubilee celebrations, terming them misleading and reality-defying. He asserted that a real opposition party should be engaged in legislative debates and help shape policies, not make statements from the sidelines.

Responding to criticisms that the Congress government had scrapped welfare schemes, the Chief Minister hit back: “Has Rythu Bandhu been stopped? Did the farm loan waiver vanish? Has public governance come to a halt? These are lies being spread to create confusion among the people.”

Targeting KCR’s leadership style, Revanth said that after a decade of power, KCR now seems content staying in isolation while claiming to care about the people’s welfare. “What message are you sending to the next generation by running away from democratic forums?” he asked.

The Chief Minister further asserted that the Congress is confident of returning to power in the next elections, while KCR will be relegated to irrelevance. He criticized the BRS rule as one where a small group of leaders treated the state like their personal domain, leaving the common people behind.

Highlighting the government’s support for BRS’s recent silver jubilee meeting, Revanth pointed out that despite extending all cooperation—including providing state buses—the BRS has failed to live up to its role as a constructive opposition. “You were chosen by the people to be the opposition. Why aren’t you meeting them, listening to their problems?” he questioned.

Wrapping up his speech, Revanth expressed disappointment over the BRS functioning more as spectators than responsible lawmakers. He threw an open challenge to KCR: “Come to the Assembly. Raise any issue you want—we are ready to debate.”
