Minister Nimmala slams Northern Andhra Lost Rs 50,000 crore Due To YCP’s Destruction of projects

Water Resources Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu lashed out at the YSRCP government for destroying Northern Andhra projects and said it was no exaggeration to say that the people of this region lost Rs 50,000 crore due to their destruction. He alleged that not even a single rupee of work was done in the Uttarandhra Sujala Sravanti and Thotapalli projects and that JICA funds were also diverted.

The Minister said that Chief Minister Chandrababu  Naidu has ordered the immediate completion of these projects in order to clear the debts of the people of Northern Andhra. As part of his visit to Vizianagaram district, Minister Ramanaidu reviewed the progress of irrigation projects in the district at the Collectorate.

It was attended by the District Collector, Water Resources and Revenue Department officials, MLC Vepada Chiranjeevi Rao, MLAs Kondru Muralimohan, Lokam Madhavi, Aditi Vijayalakshmi Gajapathiraju and several coalition leaders.

In the meeting, Minister Nimmala reviewed the progress of projects in the joint Vizianagaram district, pending works, problems and steps to be taken to resolve them. On this occasion, the Minister was furious with the work of officials on several projects. He said that there was no work and no funds in the past, and the situation has changed in this government.

He deplored that officials should also work at the same level and warned that strict action will be taken if performance does not improved. Later, speaking to the media, he said that the Thotapalli, Gajapathinagaram branch and Tarakarama Tirtha Sagar projects in Vizianagaram district are evidence of the destruction of the YSRCP.

He said that currently, under the leadership of CM Chandrababu Naidu, steps have been taken to put the North Andhra region back on track. He reminded that North Andhra was given high priority from NTR to Chandrababu. Minister Ramanaidu said that in accordance with Chandrababu’s orders to complete the projects in this region immediately, projects that can be completed quickly will be identified.

He said that a comprehensive report will be submitted to the CM to clear the debt of the people of North Andhra and to clear the debts. Similarly, Minister Nimmala clarified that the Polavaram left canal work will be completed by June 2025 and Godavari waters will be provided to North Andhra.
