The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has issued a statement rejecting all rumours related to cow death at its gaushala. In an official statement released on Friday, TTD strongly refused the rumours circulating on social media regarding alleged cow deaths at the TTD Goshala.
Strongly reacting to former TTD chairman Bhumana Karunakar Reddy’s accusations, it clarified that the photos being shared are not related to their Gaushala and have been deliberately misrepresented by certain individuals with malicious intent. The temple administration emphasised that this misinformation appears to be aimed at misleading the public and hurting the sentiments of devotees.
Meanwhile, TTD Governing Council member BJP leader Bhanu Prakash Reddy expressed his anger over the comments made by Bhumana Karunakar Reddy that cows were dying in a brutal manner in SV Goshala. He challenged Karunakar Reddy to come and inspect the cows, not to make false allegations.
He alleged that Karunakar Reddy has a history of conducting affairs in a way that discredits Srivaru. He said that it is not appropriate for Karunakar Reddy to speak without any evidence. He warned him not to hesitate to take legal action.
He said that there are already reports that the materials used for Srivari Prasadam are also not of good quality. He challenged, saying, “I will be there, the officials will be there. Karunakar Reddy can inspect the TTD Goshala”. He said that TTD maintains records of the details of cows that died due to illness.
The controversy escalated when Bhumana Karunakar Reddy, the former Chairman of TTD and a prominent leader of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), alleged that over 100 cows died due to poor maintenance and caretaking, and the number could be higher. He alleged negligence by the TDP-led Andhra Pradesh government and demanded an inquiry.
Speaking to the media, the former chairman said, “The coalition government (TDP-BJP) is busy leveling false allegations on our leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and attempting to erase his good efforts.” He expressed concern that the plight of the cows in the SV cowshed is terrible.
He further alleged that they were moved secretly without a postmortem. He said that this situation had arisen due to the lack of an officer supervising the cowshed and demanded an inquiry into the deaths of the cows.
