Gautam Rao Filed Nomination As BJP candidate In Hyd Local Bodies MLC poll, Ignoring Raja Singh’s Dissent

Sunday, April 20, 2025

Once again the three-time BJP MLA Raja Singh was sidelined and ignored by the BJP leadership. Ignoring his discontent, the party leadership selected former ABVP leader N Gautam Rao as its candidate in the Hyderabad local bodies MLC election and he filed his nominations on Friday.

The notification was released for the election on March 28 and the deadline for receiving nominations ends today. Gautam Rao worked as the BJP Hyderabad Central district president. MLC Prabhakar’s term will end on May 1. With this, polling for this seat will be held on April 23 and counting of votes will be held on the 25th.

Gautam Rao worked in the ABVP for 30 years, and for the last 15 years, he worked in the BJP. BJP state vice president Chinthala Ramachandra Reddy made it clear that the BJP has been continuously fighting against the anti-people activities of the MIM party, which has kept religion in the name of the party, from the beginning.

He lamented the fact that the Congress is not contesting the Hyderabad local body MLC elections out of fear of the MIM party, and similarly, the BRS party is not contesting against the Majlis party in the context of vote appeasement politics.

Meanwhile, Goshamahal MLA Raja Singh has expressed his anger over the BJP announcing Gautam Rao as the party’s MLC candidate. He made a series of posts to this effect on social media. He indirectly criticized Union Minister Kishan Reddy. “Will all the posts be given to your parliamentary constituency?”, he asked.

He deplored over ignoring the senior BJP leaders and activists in other parliamentary constituencies. He alleged that only those who do you a favor are being given tickets. Raja Singh’s comments are creating a stir in the BJP. It seems that there have been differences between Kishan Reddy and Raja Singh for some time.

There are over 117 voters, including 84 GHMC corporators, 15 MLAs, four Lok Sabha members, two Rajya Sabha members, and two MLCs from the Hyderabad Collectorate, who will participate in this election.
