Raptadu MLA and former minister Paritala Sunitha has stirred a political storm by alleging that YSRCP chief and ex-CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy played a role in her husband Paritala Ravi’s assassination. She recalled that the CBI had previously interrogated Jagan regarding the case, and her statements have now ignited intense debate across Andhra Pradesh.
Further intensifying her accusations, Sunitha claimed that during the tenure of former CM YS Rajasekhara Reddy, around 45 people lost their lives in political murders. Taking a jibe at those discussing the TV bomb case, she urged them to also recall the car bomb blast from the past. She strongly criticized the Thopudurthi brothers, accusing them of instigating factional tensions in Raptadu and attempting to drag Obul Reddy and Maddelacheruvu Suri’s families back into the cycle of violence.
In a direct appeal to Kanumukkala Uma and Gangula Bhanumathi, Sunitha warned them not to fall prey to the Thopudurthi brothers’ conspiracies, emphasizing that their families had already suffered significant losses due to faction politics. Slamming Jagan for allegedly trusting the wrong people, she questioned, “How can a leader who governed the state for five years be so blind to the truth?”
With Jagan scheduled to visit Papireddypalli, Sunitha took a dig at his timing, sarcastically stating, “Is Friday his lucky day?” She further mocked the visit, suggesting that Jagan bring extra clothes and extend his sympathies not just to Lingamayya’s family but also to others who have suffered under YSRCP’s rule. She firmly urged him not to rekindle factional disputes in otherwise peaceful villages.
Meanwhile, amid growing tensions, Kuruba Lingamayya’s murder has sent shockwaves through the region. Jagan has reportedly spoken to Lingamayya’s family, expressing condolences and assuring them of legal and political support. When Lingamayya’s son voiced concerns over their safety, Jagan promised personal intervention and assured the family that they would receive justice and protection.
