The Smart Classroom programme, launched by Indus Towers Limited, one of the world’s largest telecom infrastructure companies, in collaboration with the Ministry of MSME, in Vizianagaram on Saturday, was launched by AP’s Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Minister Kondapalli Srinivas. At the event, District Education Officer (DEO) U. Manikyam Naidu inaugurated the Smart Classroom facilities in 10 government schools in the district.
The initiative, which is part of Indus Towers’ flagship CSR programme “Saaksham”, aims to equip classrooms with digital infrastructure and provide comprehensive training to educators and students. Launched in line with the ‘Digital India’ mission of the Government of India, Indus Towers aims to put India first.
The Smart Classroom programme aims to enhance digital education skills of over 1,600 students. In addition, over 130 teachers have been trained to effectively integrate digital tools in their teaching methods. Speaking at the inauguration ceremony,
The Minister Kondapalli Srinivas said, “The Smart Classroom program launched by Indus Towers is a significant step towards transforming Vizianagaram district into a digitally empowered community and a knowledge-based economy by ensuring digital access and inclusion”.
As part of this effort, he said that the school has been equipped with digital infrastructure. It will be an integral part of providing the necessary training to both students and teachers.
DEO Manikyam Naidu said, this initiative will significantly enhance the quality of education by integrating digital tools into classrooms and training educators and teachers. It will empower teachers with modern teaching methods and equip students with the necessary digital skills, he added.
