Former Minister YS Vivekananda Reddy’s daughter Dr. YS Sunitha Reddy and her family members paid tributes on his 6th death anniversary, and paid their respects by garlanding her father’s grave in the Pulivendula cemetery. Speaking on the occasion, Sunitha said It has been six years since our father YS Vivekananda Reddy was murdered.
She said that she has been fighting for justice for the past six years, but deplored that except one, all accused in the case are roaming freely outside. She wondered whether there is any investigation, trails, and justice will be served? She expressed her grief that no matter how much she fought, justice has not been served.
She said that she feels that she and her family are being punished more than the accused in this case. She said that she wants the CBI to start the investigation again and asked the state government to take the responsibility of protecting the witnesses and the accused. She said that they are putting pressure on the witnesses.
Dr Sunitha also expressed her suspicion over a series of deaths of key witnesses in the case and made it clear that she will continue to fight until justice is done. It may be recalled, YS Viveka was brutally murdered at his residence in Pulivendula in the early hours of March 15, 2019. However, it was initially promoted as a heart attack and vomiting blood.
The then opposition leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy also used the murder of his own uncle for his election campaign attacking the then ruling party TDP. Jagan rushed to call for a CBI investigation. But after Jagan became the CM, he did not pay attention to the Viveka murder case.
Later, Viveka’s daughter Sunitha, who became suspicious, demanded a CBI investigation, and the High Court also agreed to it. Since then, a CBI investigation has been going on. After that, various facts regarding Viveka’s murder came to light. It was confirmed that Viveka did not have a heart attack, but a murder.
Apart from this, the CBI has already registered a chargesheet against Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy, his father YS Bhaskar Reddy, YCP key leader Devireddy Shankar Reddy, Viveka’s former driver Dastagiri, Erragangi Reddy, Sunil Yadav, Gajjala Umashankar Reddy and Uday Kumar Reddy. A total of eight people have been charged in this case.
However, Dastagiri has turned into an approver. All the real facts have come out in Dastagiri’s statement. Many people have been arrested in this case and released on bail. The CBI has been continuing the investigation for six years and questioned many suspects.
