Former chief minister and BRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao, who directed BRS MLAs and MLCs, said that the government should be held accountable for its failure to implement its promises. The BRS legislative party held a meeting at Telangana Bhavan on Tuesday. He made it clear that it should work as the voice of the people in the Assembly and Council.
Explaining the debts and assets during the BRS regime, KCR said that BRS had incurred a debt of Rs. 4 lakh crore in 10 years, but the Congress had incurred a debt of Rs. 1.5 lakh crore in 14 months and that the Congress’s bad propaganda regarding debts should be reversed.
He accused them of not implementing the promises despite incurring huge debts and of troubling the farmers by not providing them with Rythu Bandhu and irrigation water.
KCR directed the MLAs and MLCs to be aggressive in demanding the government for implementation of its promises. Stating that they have already given enough time to the government for governance and one-third of the time of the Congress government has been completed, he said that the BRS should be aggressive now in addressing the problems of the people.
He lamented that the government has failed in irrigation management and that crops are drying up due to lack of water. He said that party deputy leaders will be appointed in the Assembly and Council. KCR said that Telangana should fight uncompromisingly on public issues, fight against government corruption and anti-people programs.
He suggested that the state government’s false accusations against BRS should be refuted, farmers’ problems and shortage of fresh water should be fought in the assembly. He said that the voice should be raised in support of the BC and SC reservation bill.
He made it clear that the government should be questioned about the weakening of Gurukul schools and the problems of government employees should be held accountable. KCR said that the promises made to women should be fulfilled and the state government’s stance on the implementation of the six guarantees should be held accountable.
KCR asked party MLAs and MLCs to question the state government on the suspension of Dalit Bandhu, to hold the government accountable on sheep farming and fish distribution, and to question the government in both houses of parliament on the hardships of the people.
