Meenakshi Natarajan recently took charge as the in-charge of Telangana State Congress. Since taking charge, she has been moving forward in her own style to identify shortcomings in the party, particularly the growing gap between the government and the party, party leadership and field-level activists.
In that order, she is taking strategic steps to further strengthen the party. Even before reaching Hyderabad, she was said to have gathered inputs on the gap between the Chief Minister and Ministers, particularly discontent developing among party MLAs and district leaders.
In this order, the party will conduct reviews from Tuesday, parliament-wise. Parliamentary constituency level meetings are being initiated. First, Medak and Malkajgiri parliamentary constituency level meetings are going to be organized at Gandhi Bhavan. Meenakshi will participate in this meeting and give direction to the ranks.
They will discuss what steps should be taken to strengthen the party. Reviews will be held at Gandhi Bhavan from 2 pm. Today, a review will be held on Medak at 2 pm and Malkajgiri Parliament at 5 pm. On Wednesday, Meenakshi Natarajan will conduct a review on Karimnagar at 11 am, Adilabad at 2 pm and Peddapalli Parliament constituency at 5 pm.
The respective constituency ministers, in-charge ministers, MLAs, MLCs, MPs, corporation chairman, contested candidates and DCC presidents have been called to attend these reviews. She will discuss the party’s situation, problems and solutions. On the other hand MLC elections are being held consecutively.
After these elections, local body elections will be held. Also, due to party defections, there is a possibility of by-elections. It is reported that there will be an opportunity to discuss how to move forward in order for the Congress party to achieve a resounding victory in those elections.
Similarly, the opposition parties BJP and BRS parties are criticizing the Revanth Reddy government. In such a situation, she is focusing on how to move forward without correcting the shortcomings at the constituency level in the districts? As Meenakshi Natarajan is known to be hailing from Rahul Gandhi’s `inner circle’ in the party, party leaders are keenly watching her movements.
