CM Revanth Reddy Slams Kishan Reddy, BRS & BJP At Wanaparthy Public Meeting

Sunday, April 20, 2025

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy launched a scathing attack on Union Minister Kishan Reddy, the BRS, and the BJP during the Prajapalana – Pragathi Bata public gathering at Wanaparthy College. Addressing the massive crowd, he expressed gratitude to Wanaparthy for shaping his education and values, promising to bring pride to Telangana as a leader from the region.

Highlighting the changing political landscape in Wanaparthy, Revanth Reddy recalled a time when politics in the region were free from corruption and financial influence. However, he claimed that five years ago, an MLA had polluted the system. He also took a dig at former Chief Minister KCR and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, questioning their contributions to Telangana during their respective tenures of 10 and 12 years.

Revanth emphasized the Congress government’s commitment to the people, stating that since coming to power, they had waived ₹21,000 crore in loans. He urged citizens to see through the misinformation being spread by BRS and BJP leaders.

Reiterating his commitment to public welfare, Revanth Reddy spoke about key Congress schemes, including 200 units of free electricity and free RTC bus travel for women under the Mahalakshmi scheme. He noted that 65 lakh women are currently part of self-help groups, with plans to increase the number to one crore. His vision, he stated, was to make one crore women financially independent, which he claimed had left BRS and BJP leaders worried. “If women continue to support Congress, we will remain in power for the next 15 to 20 years,” he said.

Accusing the BRS of deliberately stalling development in Palamuru, Revanth Reddy questioned why crucial irrigation projects were neglected for a decade. He specifically blamed the previous administration for halting work on the Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC), which he claimed had led to its failure.

A direct dig at BRS leaders KTR, Harish Rao, and Kavitha, he enquired if they couldn’t bear a Chief Minister from the Palamuru region. He also attacked Kishan Reddy for misleadingly claiming credit for the Mamunoor airport, claiming that it was Prime Minister Modi who had approved it. In addition, he attacked the BJP government for not bringing Hyderabad Metro Rail expansion and for ignoring the long-pending Musi River rejuvenation project.

Taking a personal dig at Kishan Reddy, Revanth Reddy claimed that the Union Minister was envious of his rise as a younger leader and was actively obstructing Telangana’s progress. Surprisingly, he acknowledged that Prime Minister Modi had goodwill toward the state but alleged that Kishan Reddy was the real roadblock.

“Modi wants to help Telangana, but the problem is not him—it’s Kishan Reddy, who holds resentment toward the state,” Revanth said, adding that Kishan Reddy is acting like a “Sainthavudu” (traitor) to Telangana.
