Sunday, April 20, 2025

Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav said that the state government is taking steps towards poverty eradication. While presenting the jumbo budget of Rs 3,22,359 crore, he said that his government is preparing plans with the Swarnandhra Vision as its goal and is moving forward with welfare and development goals.

He said that Amaravati and Polavaram are the priorities of his government.  He said that his government is working towards the development of the Telugu language and revealed that an allocation of Rs. 10 crore is being proposed for the development and promotion of the Telugu language.

Payyavula said that Rs. 3,156 crore is being proposed for the Industries and Commerce Department for the financial year 2025-26. He said that the government is unveiling several policy initiatives with a vision to establish an investment system to accelerate industrial growth.

He said that his government’s goal is to make the state a green hydrogen hub with the aim of achieving one-third of the country’s total production in green hydrogen production by 2030. He said that efforts are being made to attract investments in the energy sector by setting up renewable energy manufacturing zones. He said that Rs. 13,600 crore is being proposed for allocation to the Energy Department for the year 2025-26.

He said that the policies followed by the previous government have damaged the morale of the police force, resulting in anarchy in the state. He said that drugs have spread without any hindrance.

To boost the morale of the police force, Rs. 250 crore has been paid recently out of the accumulated dues of Rs. 920 crore, and the coalition government has revived the Group Personal Accident Insurance Policy, which had been stalled for the last two years. He said that Rs. 61.20 crore has been released under the Modernization of Police Force Scheme (MOPAF).

However, various notifications and job vacancies that the unemployed were waiting for, including the Mega DSC, were not mentioned in the budget. The unemployment allowance mentioned in the election manifesto was ignored. There was no mention of schemes like free bus travel for women and Rs 1500 cash transfer.
