Director Anil Ravipudi and Victory Venkatesh’s Sankranthiki Vastunnam was a huge blockbuster, which put the box office ablaze with collections over ₹300 crore. This family entertainment comedy film with full-on jokes and lively performances clicked with people big time and became one of the biggest successes in recent years. Producers Dil Raju and Sirish earned huge amounts of profits with the phenomenal success of the movie.
Riding high on this success, producer Dil Raju is now planning to remake Sankranthiki Vastunnam in Hindi. Considering the cinematic appeal of the film and the comedy-based script, a remake in Bollywood sounds like a planned step to find a broader range of audiences. But the main director of the film, who was instrumental in making the original a hit, Anil Ravipudi, will not direct the remake as he is assigned to direct the next film for Megastar Chiranjeevi.
As Anil Ravipudi is not available, Dil Raju is currently on the lookout for a replacement director for the Hindi version. In the meantime, there are reports that Bollywood icon Akshay Kumar has already okayed playing a part in the remake. Famous for his excellent sense of comedy and mass popularity, Akshay Kumar appears to be the ideal choice for the central character, and thus the Hindi version will have the same energy and entertainment quotient as the original.
After the director is confirmed, Dil Raju will formally make an announcement about the project. If things go according to plan, this remake would be another blockbuster in Telugu and Hindi cinema. People are waiting impatiently for news on this promising development.
