Telugu States MLC Elections: Schedule Released For Teacher & Graduate Seats

Once again, polls are knocking the Telugu states. The election commission announced a schedule for elections to the members of the legislative councils in the constituencies of Teachers and Graduates. Now, Andhra Pradesh is holding two Graduate constituency polls and one poll for the Teacher constituencies, and Telangana will be doing one Graduate constituency poll and two Teacher constituency polls. Since the Model Code of Conduct has been already enforced by the government, political parties have already increased their election campaign activities ahead of the coming elections.

In Andhra Pradesh, Graduate constituencies are to be constituted and elected in Godavari, Guntur, and Krishna districts, and Teacher constituency election is to be held in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, and Visakhapatnam districts. Graduate constituency elections are to be conducted in Telangana regions of Medak, Nizamabad, Adilabad, and Karimnagar, and the election for Teacher constituency is to be conducted in Medak, Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Warangal, Khammam, and Nalgonda.

Clarifies model election code of conduct will be immediate in these regions
The Election Commission has clarified on the Model Code of Conduct that goes into effect immediately in this region. They expect to have the election notified from February 3rd, going on to do the polling and vote counting within February 27th. For the results it is declared by March 3rd.

Major political parties have already finalized the candidates for elections. The Telugu Desam Party has announced the candidates in Andhra Pradesh, and campaigns are now in full swing. The candidates are vigorously reaching out to voters. It is an election of utmost importance for Graduate constituencies as the result will give clear insights into the opinion of people and thus a highly sought-after constituency for political parties.
