Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has dismissed the objections raised by the Telangana government on the Banakacharla river linking project initiated by his government. He made it clear that there would be no loss to Telangana if Godavari water is diverted to Banakacharla.

He asserted that they intend to divert only the flood waters of Godavari and said that Telangana is an upstream state of AP as far as the river flow is concerned. Chandrababu reminded that they did not object when the Telangana state built the Kaleshwaram project on Godavari.

It may be recalled that Telangana has objected towards the Banakacharla project saying that the project to divert flood waters through Godavari- Banakacharla was against the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act. It asked the Union ministers to prevent the project from going ahead and take action without inviting tenders.

Telangana Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy has written letters to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil, urging them to ensure that the Central Water Commission and Godavari River Management Board do not approve the project.

CM Chandrababu Naidu advised that one has to realize that Hyderabad does not belong to Telangana alone, but to the Telugu people. He said that he is proud of the development of Hyderabad. Chandrababu expressed his anger that no one wants to destroy the wealth created, but some people think crookedly and do such things.

Chandrababu said that if the Telugu states develop, it will only benefit the country. He clarified that there are many opportunities for shipbuilding in AP and if some incentives are given, many industries will come to Andhra Pradesh. He said that he had discussed with Jindal for the establishment of the Kadapa Steel Plant. He said that he had said that he would come to Andhra Pradesh soon and talk to the government about the plant.

Meanwhile, he expressed anger that some were spreading misinformation about how much money he brought and how many agreements made after going to Davos. He said that they had participated in a total of 27 meetings in Davos and had participated in the conference on the topic of Human Mission Collaboration Unlocking New Opportunities, Green Energy – Green Hydrogen Manufacturing.

Chandrababu said that he had discussed extensively about AP as a petrochemical hub and blue ocean economy and also had discussed achieving sustainable development goals and natural agriculture. He made it clear that his goal was to put AP on the world map again.
