In a major initiative to enhance skill development and education, Telangana has partnered strategically with Singapore’s Institute of Technical Education (ITE). The Memorandum of Understanding was signed on Friday by Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and ITE’s Deputy Director Fabian Cheong in a move to propel technical education in the state forward.
The MOU signing ceremony was witnessed by the vice chancellor of Telangana Skill University, Subba Rao, and IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu in the event to mark this occasion.
Promotion of Technical Education in Telangana
Before finalizing the agreement, CM Revanth Reddy and his team had visited ITE’s world-class campus to see the high-tech training facilities and infrastructure. ITE is one of the top educational institutions in Singapore. It offers a wide range of job-oriented technical courses. The three campuses and more than 100 programs have provided training to more than 28,000 students with valuable industry-specific skills through full-time and part-time courses.
Empowering Telangana’s Workforce
This alliance underlines Telangana’s commitment to developing its youth for a highly competitive job market with the necessary skills. By joining forces with ITE, the state seeks to advance the standard of education and better the employability of the workforce, so the students are best prepared for their future.
This collaboration will be strengthened when a delegation from ITE arrives soon in Hyderabad to deliberate on the second phase and how skill development initiatives can be implemented to suit the needs of Telangana.
