Thursday, January 9, 2025

HYDRA Commissioner Ranganath has issued a stern statement against illegal constructions in Hyderabad and said the strictest of actions would be implemented to those involved in land encroachment. While on a recent visit to Jubilee Hills, he underlined the importance of adhering to legal boundaries and said offenders would also face legal consequences.

Ranganath, accompanied by his team, conducted an inspection in areas like Nandagiri Hills, Huda Enclave Colony, and Gurubrahmanagar Basti. During this visit, they identified 25 acres of government land that had been illegally occupied. The land was originally allocated back in 2011 for building affordable double-bedroom houses for low-income families. Inhabitants objected to the land’s illegal occupation and encroachments on a park adjacent to the area.

Reassuring the community, Commissioner Ranganath assured them that efforts to secure the 25-acre land would be prioritized. He also stated that the issue of building homes for the underprivileged on the designated land would be presented to the local MLA and government officials. Furthermore, Ranganath disclosed plans to initiate a comprehensive survey to address the encroachments and safeguard the park space.

Khairatabad MLA, Danam Nagender, joined the inspection and voiced his full support for the measures being taken. He committed to ensuring the construction of proper housing for the poor, if required, and expressed unwavering support for HYDRA’s mission to remove illegal constructions.

Commissioner Ranganath also confirmed that a thorough survey of the encroached land would be conducted before further steps are taken. Additionally, he assured the public that all responsible parties would be called for document verification, with collaboration from the HMDA, GHMC commissioners, and the Hyderabad Collector. Ranganath concluded by reassuring the residents that the matter would be resolved fairly and justly, with a focus on securing the rights of the affected communities.
