Major Security Upgrades For CM Chandrababu Naidu

Thursday, January 9, 2025

The protection for Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has been substantially enhanced due to increased security concerns, mainly by Maoist groups. Among the improvements, a new counter-action team is now part of bolstering his safety, with the resultant being a more comprehensive defense strategy.

The newly revised security setup now incorporates six highly trained commandos as part of the counter-action team. These commandos will work seamlessly with the National Security Guard (NSG) and Special Security Group (SSG), forming a dynamic, constantly vigilant protection network around the Chief Minister.

Chandrababu Naidu is among the very few leaders in India who are guarded by the elite NSG Black Cat commandos and the SSG. Following a Maoist attack near Alipiri in Tirupati, his security was further strengthened with the inclusion of the Black Cat commandos. Now, a specially trained counter-action team is receiving expert guidance under the Special Protection Group (SPG), further enhancing the Chief Minister’s safety.

Previously, during his tenure as the opposition leader, the number of NSG commandos assigned to protect him was raised from six to twelve. With the escalating threat of Maoist activities, the counter-action team is being deployed to provide an additional layer of defense, ensuring round-the-clock protection.

Chandrababu Naidu’s security measures are now structured in three layers: the first level, featuring the NSG, the second level, comprising the SSG, and the third layer, the newly integrated counter-action team. In the event of an attack, the first two teams will focus on safely evacuating the CM, while the counter-action team will be responsible for engaging any attackers. These upgraded measures were officially rolled out during the CM’s recent visit to Kuppam.
