Prashant Kishor Begins Indefinite Hunger Strike, Seeks Cancellation of BPSC Preliminary Exam

Friday, April 18, 2025

Prominent election strategist and Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor has launched an indefinite hunger strike, demanding the cancellation of the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) preliminary examination. Kishor’s move comes in support of candidates who alleged irregularities in the examination process and are demanding a re-examination.

Candidates who appeared for the preliminary exam have raised concerns over alleged malpractices and have been pressing for the exam to be reconducted. Despite these allegations, BPSC officials have ruled out the possibility of a re-examination, leading to widespread protests by the affected candidates over the past two weeks.

In solidarity with the protesting candidates, Prashant Kishor has begun his hunger strike, urging the commission to reconsider its stance and conduct the preliminary examination again. The protest highlights ongoing concerns about transparency and fairness in the state’s competitive examination process.
