A few days of controversy around Allu Arju’s Sandhya Theatre stampede incident has created a deep gap between Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Tollywood industry. Moreover, the unilateral announcement of the Chief Minister in the state assembly that hereafter they will not give permission for benefit shows and also hike in cine tickets has been sending shocking waves to the prominent producers of the film industry.
To clear this gap and facilitate a smooth and working relations with the Congress government in the state prominent film personalities are planning to meet the Chief Minister. They are particularly waiting for the return of Producer and Film Development Corporation Chairman Dil Raju, who is presently in the US to promote his upcoming Ram Charan’s `Game Chnger’ movie.
Producer Naga Vamsi revealed their plan to meet the Chief Minister after the return of Dil Raju to discuss the hike in ticket prices and premiere shows. Incidentally Naga Vamsi’s Nandamuri Balakrishna starrer `Daku Maharaj’ and `Game Changer’ are slated to be released for Sankranti. The first victim of the Chief Minister’s statement will be these two high-profile pictures.
Naga Vamsi is producing it under the banner of Sithara Entertainment. The film is set to hit the screens for Sankranthi.
Referring to the Sandhya Theater stampede, he made it clear that ‘no one can stop what happens in that minute. We will take extra precautions from now on. A movie will be released in many theaters. We can’t follow up everywhere, right?’.
“If we say we will follow up like that, will it be believed? We will take all the precautions that are within our control. We will try to ensure that the recent incidents don’t happen again. From now on, heroes should decide whether to go to theaters or not if there are benefit shows,’” he added.
However, he dismissed speculations that after this incident, the film industry is likely to shift to Andhra Pradesh. ‘‘Even if I invested a lot of money and built a house in Hyderabad. Why would I go to another place? Pawan Kalyan promised that the AP government would always support the industry when he came to power. Since then, he has been supporting the films that have been released. The industry is treating the governments of both Telugu states equally. Governments are also supporting it,” he said.
