Nara Devaansh, the nine-year-old chess prodigy son of Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh and grandson of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, has created an unparalleled feat in the world of chess. Devaansh set a new record as the “Fastest Checkmate Solver” completing 175 chess puzzles-an achievement officially recognized by the World Book of Records in London. This marvelous achievement has brought great pride to the Nara family.
After solving an impressive 5,334 chess puzzles from renowned chess collections, Devaansh proved himself to be a brilliant problem solver and sharp strategic thinker, earning him the world record. He participated in the “Checkmate Marathon” where he solved a series of complex chess puzzles, getting himself into the record books.
But that’s not all. Devaansh has also set two additional world records: completing the challenging 7-disk Tower of Hanoi puzzle in just 1 minute and 43 seconds, and arranging nine chessboards with 32 pieces in under five minutes. These impressive feats were all thoroughly reviewed and validated by officials from the World Book of Records.
Minister Nara Lokesh expressed his immense pride in his son’s accomplishments, revealing that he had closely observed Devaansh’s dedicated and intense training. Lokesh also mentioned that Devaansh was inspired by the stellar performances of Indian chess players on the international stage. He took the opportunity to thank Ray Chess Academy for nurturing his son’s chess skills.
The feats were achieved by Devaansh after weeks of rigorous training wherein he used to prepare for these challenges from 5-6 hours daily. Coach K. Rajasekhar Reddy said that he praised Devaansh for his creativity and dynamism, stating that solving 175 complex puzzles in such a short time exhibited extraordinary mental agility. This achievement marks a significant milestone in Devaansh’s young but promising chess career.
