Chagati Given Task of Making `Moral values’ As part of curriculum

The Andhra Pradesh government has appointed renowned preacher Chaganti Koteswara Rao as the Advisor on Moral Values,  with cabinet status.  It is known that Chaganti Koteswara Rao will soon assume full responsibility. However, the AP government has recently taken another key decision.

A was taken in a cabinet meeting two days ago to bring out special books with AP Government Advisor on Moral Values. These books will be designed by Chaganti and distributed in educational institutions to instill moral values in children and youth in the state.

Moreover, while integrating from KG to PG, another decision has been taken to create a curriculum with moral values for students. Chaganti will be given this task also creating such a curriculum. It has been decided to provide kits to students studying in government schools under the Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Vidyarthi Mitra scheme.

The kits provided at a cost of Rs. 32.45 crore will include text books, competitive exam material, record books and notebooks. On the other hand, the cabinet has decided to revive the mid-day meal scheme for inter students across the state from January.

Also, from the next academic year, students will be trained on JEE, NEET and EAMCET in inter colleges. In addition to providing competitive exam material to MPC and BiPC students, the government will allocate special time to teach these.

It may be recalled that Chaganti Koteswara Rao said that he is accepting this post given by the AP government with the intention of saying some good words that will be useful to children. He said that he welcomes the key responsibility of instilling moral values in children.

He said that he is not accepting any posts for the sake of status. He said he will be happy if the children benefit from the words he says. Similarly, Chaganti Koteswara Rao recently met Chief Minister Chandrababu and Minister Nara Lokesh. Chandrababu felicitated Chaganti with a shawl and presented him with a statue of Lord Venkateswara.

Chandrababu advised Chaganti to try to instill moral values among students and youth in the coming days. He advised that special programs should be taken up to instill moral values and these should be organized in schools, colleges and universities. He said that in the current era, many factors are having a negative impact on students and youth. That is why there is a need to teach students and youth to respect parents and women and value the words of elders.
