BRS Working President KT Rama Rao has made it clear that he has not done anything wrong in the Formula E race and that he has no reason to be afraid even if the state government registers an illegal case against him. He reiterated that they are Telangana activists, children of the movement leader, and will continue to fight such illegal cases without fear of oppression and conspiracies.
He expressed his anger that the Revanth Reddy government is resorting to political harassment against them because they are exposing the corruption and illegalities being committed by the Chief Minister and his family one by one. He said that they will move forward according to the law and that the BRS legal cell will take action in this matter.
In the wake of a case filed by the ACB against him earlier in the day, KTR spoke to mediapersons at Telangana bhavan and shared crucial documents including key communications between the State government and the officials of the Federation de I’ AUtomobile (FIA), which had filed a case for arbitration against the State government in the International Chamber of Commerce for breach of contract.
Producing evidence of how a political conspiracy was orchestrated against him using the Formula-E racing event as pretext, he presented crucial details about the event’s cancellation and financial transactions that were deliberately suppressed from public domain by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, and explained how the Chief Minister had played foul games to get the event cancelled and then accuse him of corruption.
This race was organized to enhance the brand image of Hyderabad, for which Rs. He said that Rs 55 crores were paid, and the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI) has revealed that this amount has been reached. Where is the negligence in this? Why ACB? He asked.
He clarified that the Formula E-race was canceled due to the Revanth Reddy government not paying the 3rd installment. He said that the international formula governing body FIE has also returned the Rs 73 lakh race fees paid by the Indian division.
He questioned why the Revanth Reddy government is not taking it. He questioned why Revanth Reddy is afraid to discuss this race in the Assembly and why he is giving leaks to the favorable media within four walls.
KTR revealed that Formula E co-founder and Chief Championship Officer Alberto Longo met Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on December 13 to discuss the event and the latter reportedly responded positively. They also sent an email communication to the government on December 19 for confirmation and commitment to an operational delivery plan for the event by December 21, which was apparently ignored, he said.
This letter clearly mentioned that the first two instalments were paid by the previous government, and that the third instalment was not paid by the current government, which led to the cancellation, and in the process, also revealed that there was no foul play from part of the previous BRS government, he added.
