Minister for Municipal Administration Dr P. Narayana assured that Rajahmundry city will be developed in a planned manner by the time of Godavari Pushkarams. He said that proposals will be prepared after discussing with the Chief Minister to sanction central funds for the Pushkarams.

He said that power generation plants will be set up in Rajahmundry, Kakinada and various major cities across the state using garbage. The minister said that these plants are working wonderfully in Guntur and Visakhapatnam. Conducting a review at the Rajahmundry Municipal Corporation, he appealed to the people to pay the arrears of various taxes worth Rs. 70 crores in Rajahmundry city.

He said that the construction work of Amaravati will be completed in three years and tenders will be called for Rs. 62,000 crores by next January. Narayana alleged that the YSRCP government has diverted the funds of the municipal corporations and has imposed a heavy tax burden on the people.

Apart from this, Minister Narayana expressed hope that the construction of power plants on the Chinese model will be undertaken to prevent the accumulation of garbage. He said that if the TDP government had come to power in 2019, Polavaram would have been completed by 2021.

On this occasion, Minister Narayana inaugurated the newly established petrol bank at the Rajahmundry Quarry Center. The municipal corporation has set up this petrol bank with the help of IOC. Through this, diesel and petrol will be provided to the vehicles of the Rajahmundry Municipal Corporation as well as to the vehicles of the public.

The minister said that the cost of diesel for the vehicles of the Rajahmundry Corporation will be reduced through this petrol bank. The minister also said that they will set up more petrol stations of their own in 123 municipal corporations and city administrations across the state.
