Rebel Star Prabhas, who has got millions of hearts across the globe, had to miss his much-awaited Japan premiere for sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD as the star has sustained an ankle injury a while back. According to reports, he had injured it during one of the shoots of an ongoing project in which he starred; he hasn’t revealed whether it is The Raja Saab or Fauji.
The Japan release of the film, which had scheduled for December 18th, will go ahead, and Prabhas will miss that. The film has got a grand nationwide release on 3rd January 2025 in Japan coinciding with the Shogatsu, that is, the Japanese New Year’s celebrations.
Prabhas talked to his fans in Japan via an official statement:
“Thank you for always showering me and my work with immense love. I was eagerly looking forward to visiting Japan, but unfortunately, I sprained my ankle during filming and cannot attend the premiere. I deeply regret this and appreciate the tremendous support provided by the distribution team as we gear up for the release of Kalki 2898 AD on January 3. I hope to meet you all very soon.”
In the absence of Prabhas, director Nag Ashwin will be interacting with the fans on the premiere day.
Kalki 2898 AD is the ensemble cast movie starring Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan. The movie has been making waves in India and will now try to do the same in Japan.
Meanwhile, fans from all over the world have taken to social media to wish the superstar a speedy recovery. While Prabhas is focusing on healing, his fans eagerly await his return to the sets and the big screen.
