Actor Allu Arjun, who was arrested on Friday afternoon in connection with a stampede case on the release day of Pushpa 2 which resulted in the death of a woman, has been released from Chanchalaguda Jail in Hyderabad on Saturday early morning after high drama. He reached his residence at around 7 o clock in the morning after spending nearly 12 hours in the jail. The actor provided the jail superintendent with a personal bond of Rs 50,000 before being released, as per the directions given by Telangana High Court Judge Juvvadi Sridevi.
Even though Allu Arjun was granted interim bail by the High Court of Telangana on Friday evening, the jail authorities of Chanchalaguda didn’t release him immediately as the copy of the order wasn’t supplied to them. The bail order was uploaded in the court website just before midnight. The superintendent of Chanchalaguda jail objected to some errors in the physical copy issued by the court and didn’t allow the release of Allu Arjun till morning.
After high drama, Allu Arjun was finally released from the back gate of Chanchalaguda jail. His father Allu Arvind and other family members received him after release and accompanied him.
Going into the details, a case was booked last week on Allu Arjun and Sandhya theatre management after a woman named Revathi succumbed to injuries and died due to asphyxiation on the wee hours of December 5th. It was alleged that Allu Arjun attended the special premiere of Pushpa 2 without any prior notice to the local police or theatre management. Large number of people gathered at the theater and lack of any security measures led to huge stampede like situation.
Revanthi and her two children were injured in the incident . While she was declared dead on spot, the children were admitted into the hospital. A case been filed under BNS section 105 (punishment for culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and 118(1) r/w 3(5) (voluntarily causing hurt or grievous hurt) at Chikkadpally police station based on the complaint of the family members of the deceased.
Yesterday afternoon, Chikkadapally police arrested Allu Arjun at his house. The district magistrate denied him bail and sent him to remand for 14 days. A lunch motion petition was launched immediately by Allu Arjun’s team in High Court. After hearing the arguments, the High Court granted him interim bail for a month.
