KCR Reacts To New Telangana Thalli Statue

Saturday, December 21, 2024

As Telangana’s Revanth Reddy-led government marks its first anniversary, a momentous event is scheduled for December 9—the unveiling of a new Telangana Mother statue at the Secretariat. This change has sparked considerable debate, as it replaces the previous statue installed by the BRS government.

KCR, the leader of the BRS and former Chief Minister, has voiced strong opposition to this alteration, labeling it an ill-advised decision. During a recent meeting with BRS MLAs and MLCs at his Eravelli farmhouse, KCR emphasized the profound emotional and historical significance of the Telangana Mother statue, which had symbolized the spirit of the Telangana movement. He encouraged his party members to explain this important symbolism to the public.

Additionally, KCR highlighted that the government’s priorities should be focused on addressing people’s concerns rather than making symbolic changes like statues. He criticized the Congress government for its multiple failures, urging BRS representatives to raise these issues in the upcoming assembly sessions.

KCR further urged his party to draw attention to the gap between Congress’s electoral promises and their real-world implementation. He also emphasized the importance of the Kisan Bandhu scheme and instructed lawmakers to inform the public about its benefits. Looking ahead, KCR revealed plans for a BRS public rally in February to hold the Congress government accountable and announced the formation of new party committees, with membership registration to follow soon after.
