Probably most notably discussed in today’s meeting by the Andhra Pradesh cabinet was a relevant topic to be addressed concerning discussions of issues raised by deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan and which has gone across discussions amongst people in this Andhra Pradesh state government.

The matter originated from Pawan Kalyan’s recent inspection of Kakinada Port, where he uncovered illegal transportation of ration rice. Raising serious concerns, he pointed out other unlawful activities at the port and flagged issues regarding its security. Pawan’s sharp criticism of the administration led him to propose an investigation by either the CBI or CID to uncover the truth. This proposition was formally addressed in today’s Cabinet deliberations.

During the session, Pawan Kalyan requested the government to take immediate action to curb the illegal export of rice through Kakinada Port. Rebutting these allegations, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said that a CID inquiry would be initiated. He further detailed the focus of the inquiry, which would cover the illegal rice trade, changes in port management under the previous YSRCP government, instances of intimidation, and related activities.

This proactive response from the Chief Minister has drawn attention, with many seeing it as a decisive step towards addressing long-standing issues at Kakinada Port. The announcement has further solidified Pawan Kalyan’s role as a key figure in the state’s governance.
