Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan visiting Kakinada port and accusing it of becoming an easy route for smuggling ration rice in AP has been raising political uproar in the coalition government in the state. Particularly, he was targeting local TDP MLA also pushing the party into defence.
Soon after, Jana Sena’s senior leader Nadendla Manohar taking up the civil supply ministry visited Kakinada and started targeting smuggling of ration rice from here. Finally, now along with Manohar, Pawan Kalyan entered the scene. Moreover, he expressed apprehension that the Port is turning out to be a security threat to the country.
Alleging that not only ration rice, but also drugs and explosives could be smuggled through this Port, he said he will be writing a letter to the union home minister Amit Shah seeking an indepth probe. This was felt to be questioning law and order machinery in the state.
Pawan’s allegations that the authorities prevented him from entering the Kakinada port for two months for various reasons, and that even when he finally entered the port, they made excuses not to allow him to board the ship itself indicating something fishy going on.
Moreover, indicating that the Kakinada TDP MLA was responsible for it, he questioned the silence of the MLA.
But, the government is maintaining silence towards the Deputy Chief Minister’s allegations and not responding to his comments.
In the past, Pawan Kalyan’s criticisms regarding law and order in the state have directly affected government leaders. The government, which immediately stepped in and pointed the finger at those who posted on social media, is now a topic of discussion for its silence on Pawan’s allegations regarding Kakinada Port.
In particular, Pawan’s question about why local TDP MLA Kondababu is not paying attention to all this happening at Kakinada Port seems to have hit the government hard. Considering the large scale of illegal rice being transported abroad at Kakinada Port, the way Pawan Kalyan, who is in the position of Deputy CM, stopped raising many questions.
On the other hand, the District Superintendent of Police is said to be going on leave whenever Pawan Kalyan visits Kakinada. Now, everyone is waiting to see how Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will respond to this scenario and settle the issue.
