TDP and Jana Sena leaders have been accusing that during the YCP regime large scale land grabbing took place, in which not only key political leaders, but also some key officials were also alleged. Serious allegations were against former chief secretary Jawahar Reddy.
They had alleged that he had purchased hundreds of acres of land in the vicinity of Vizag, which was declared as the executive capital by the then YSRCP government, in benami names. Not only that, Jana Sena Visakhapatnam Corporator Murthy Yadav held several media conferences and revealed where Jawahar Reddy’s men had bought lands.
All this happened during his time as Chief Secretary. What is strange here is that Jawahar Reddy officially condemned Murthy Yadav’s allegations and warned that he would take legal action against him and announced that he would give him legal notices. But surprisingly, no legal notice was given to him till now and also no legal action was initiated.
Everyone thought that after the coalition government comes to power, a SIT will be formed to investigate the land deals that took place during the YCP regime. Now, Murthy Yadav and TDP leaders, who had earlier demanded action about these lands are now keeping silent.
TDP circles allege that it was due to Jawahar Reddy reaching a deal with a key minister in Chandrababu Naidu’s government. According to this deal, he has agreed to transfer some of those grabbed lands to his misnames. That is why there has been no movement in this case for the last few months.
That’s why it is strongly felt that though there is solid evidence against Jawahar Reddy of acquiring hundreds of acres of land during YCP regime, misusing his position, the present government is now not showing to take any probe against him. Moreover, it is being alleged that the present government assured him to protect him from any investigations.
On the other hand, the former Chief Secretary has also been reported of commenting with his close aides that no one can do anything to him since he is very close to a key minister.
Allegations have surfaced that Jawahar Reddy, with his benami, has bought hundreds of acres of land in Anandapuram and Padmanabhapuram mandals close to Vizag with his benami, which is the most prime land in Visakhapatnam district. It is said that the value of these lands is in the thousands of crores of rupees.
The names of people named Umesh and Trilok who made the transactions on behalf of Jawahar Reddy also came out at that time. However, surprisingly the coalition government remained silent on the matter.
