Vicky Kaushal is set to stun fans with a new role in his highly anticipated period drama ‘Chhaava,’ which was scheduled to release in theaters on December 6, 2024, clashing with Allu Arjun starrer ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’.
Ahead of its release, it is reported that ‘Chhava’ has been backed out of the race and postponed its release to 2025. The filmmakers are now planning to release the film on February 14, 2025, to avoid a box office clash with Allu Arjun’s eagerly awaited sequel ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule,’ directed by Sukumar.
If the change is confirmed, Pushpa Raj will come to enjoy a solo release at the box office worldwide. Rashmika Mandanna is the female lead for both films. The makers have yet to confirm this update with an announcement, which is expected to be released soon.
Directed by Laxman Utekar, Chhaava is a biographical drama on the Maratha Emperor, Chhatrapathi Sambhaji Maharaj, the son of Chhatrapathi Shivaji Maharaj. This epic film is produced by Dinesh Vijan under the banner of Maddock Films.
Vicky Kaushal plays the titular role as Chhatrapathi Sambhaji Maharaj, with Rashmika Mandanna as his wife, Akshaye Khanna as Mughal Emperor Aurangazeb, and Ashutosh Rana, Divya Dutta, Suneil Shetty, and Pradeep Ram Singh Rawat in significant roles. AR Rahman’s music adds another level to the cinematic experience.
