The sequel of Kalki 2898 AD is going to shatter the bar yet again for Indian cinema. Director Nag Ashwin’s keen insight into visionary storytelling compelled him to film a few portions of the sequel during the making of the first part as he had designed the same intricate and pricey sets that were already on sets for short period before they were dismantled. The full-scale production of Kalki 2, which was earlier scheduled to take place in 2025, is now rescheduled to the last half of 2026.
Nag Ashwin is now reworking the script with valuable audience feedback and critics to make sure the sequel will have a more convincing storyline. Casting stars like Prabhas, Kamal Haasan, Amitabh Bachchan, and Deepika Padukone does pose the challenge, with Prabhas having major projects in Raja Saab, Fauji, and Spirit on the go.
Vyjayanthi Movies productions, Kalki 2 would again feature the core technical team of Nag Ashwin at its best. This would mean that the sequel would continue with the same visually grand scenery and engaging narration that has endeared itself to audiences in the first installment.
While this means that fans have to wait a little longer, the movie’s extended timeline reflects the team’s commitment in delivering a cinematic masterpiece. As is the case with Kalki 2, following rigorous planning and attention to detail, viewers can expect the breathtaking continuation of the epic saga that redefined Indian science fiction cinema.
