Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan said that a garbage dumping yard will be set up for ten to twelve villages to solve the garbage problem on the lines of the water grid. He was answering questions asked by members of the Legislative Council on the establishment of dumping yards in villages.
He revealed that orders have been given to effectively manage centers that create wealth from garbage. He said that he is giving priority to sanitation in villages and said that dumping yards are being set up in villages where there is a possibility. However, he said that there is no space available for dumping yards in many villages and to prevent this, he is planning to set up dumping yards in mandal headquarters on the lines of the multi-grid water scheme.
In response to a question asked by members of the Legislative Council, he said that steps are being taken to set up a common dumping yard for 10-12 villages and that the full implementation will be announced soon.
Pawan said that funds have been provided from the 15th Finance for the management of wealth creation centers under the auspices of the Panchayat in the villages. He said that the wealth creation centers should be managed efficiently. He said that it is the responsibility of all of us to keep the villages clean and tidy, and the coalition government will take steps in this direction.
In response to another question, he said that Rs 101.81 crore was spent on painting the village secretariats in 2019-24, of which Rs 49.8 crore was spent on painting and Rs 52.73 crore was spent on removing the paint.
He said that the expenditure incurred only on the offices under the Panchayat Raj department, while the relevant departments will inform about the expenditure incurred on the remaining offices. He said that the party colors were removed and the specified colors were applied as per the orders of the High Court.
“We have provided funds for the operation of waste-to-wealth creation centers in villages. We have allocated funds from the 15th Finance for wealth creation centers. We have given instructions to operate waste-to-wealth creation centers efficiently. It is the responsibility of all of us to keep the villages clean and tidy. We will definitely solve the problem of dumping yards”, Pawan Kalyan added.
