The box office is enamored with Sivakarthikeyan’s Amaran, because the movie has achieved an astonishing Rs. 250 crores in its collection, which is a new career high for this actor. The patriotic action drama takes the vigor and vivacity of the real-life hero Major Mukund Varadharajan while the leading lady in this movie is Sai Pallavi, with romantic twist added to the gripping storyline.
Since the movie is doing good, makers have decided to postpone the OTT release of Amaran by a week or two. This one is doing good even on weekdays and is bound to be in a smooth run till the end of this month, say experts. So makers have decided to run it on the silver screen for a few more weeks before shifting it to digital platforms.
Amaran was to start streaming from the first week of December. Now that Netflix has acquired post-theatrical streaming rights, the movie is likely to hit digital platforms later.
This is a good decision to stretch the film’s theatrical run, which will make people watch Amaran on the big screen for a longer period. The film is jointly produced by Kamal Haasan, Sony Pictures International Productions, and R. Mahendran. Written and directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, music is composed by GV Prakash Kumar.
