The AP Government suspended seven police persons, after a video of YSRCP leader Borugadda Anil having lavish dinner with policemen doing the rounds on social media. While he was being taken to Rajahmundry prison, after appearing in the Mangalagiri court, criticism was being expressed that Anil was treated with royal courtesy at the Gannavaram Cross Roads restaurant.
While TDP workers were filming a video on their cellphones, the police confiscated their phones and deleted the video. The CCTV footage is doing the rounds on social media. The Guntur district SP responded to this and suspended seven policemen who were negligent in their duties.
Anil from Guntur became the state president of a party. But he acted as a pawn for Jagan. He made a fuss on social media and TV debates by insulting opposition leaders to get the public to bow their heads in appreciation of Jagan.
At that time, if anyone spoke against Jagan, he would attack them with obscene language. They threatened to kill him. They also made inappropriate comments about TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu, Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan and Lokesh.
Anil went into hiding the day after the election results, fearing that the police would arrest him in view of the cases against him. He hid in neighboring states for three months. He came to his relatives’ house in Velangini Nagar, Guntur after learning that his mother was unwell. After receiving the information, the police arrested him and produced him in court.
In the past, Anil had committed crimes and atrocities in Guntur by mentioning Jagan’s name. The police did not look at him because he mentioned Jagan’s name. The then YSRCP MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy threatened him over the phone after he had a disagreement with Jagan and criticized him, which became a sensation across the state.
However, A person named Karlapudi Babu Prakash filed a complaint with the Arundalpet PS that Anil Kumar had threatened him in 2021 to give him Rs 50 lakhs and that he would kill him if he did not give it. Despite registering a case, Anil was not arrested as the YSRCP was in power.
Apart from this, there are cases against Anil in Arundalpet, Pattabhipuram, Kothapet, Old Guntur, Tadikonda and Thullur police stations. The rowdy sheet in the Arundalpet PS has been transferred to the Pattabhipuram police station.
Recently, Anil was remanded until the 20th of this month in the case of attack on flying squad personnel during the elections. The SP suspended seven policemen on charges that the police took him to a restaurant while he was being transferred from Mangalagiri Court to Rajahmundry Jail.
