In a significant turn of events, former minister and BRS working president KTR has shifted his focus to support various groups protesting against the Telangana government, which he has often criticized. Recently, he voiced his backing for auto drivers who are protesting the Mahalakshmi scheme, which offers free bus services for women but has adversely affected their income.

KTR made his presence felt at the auto drivers’ protest by arriving in an auto rickshaw, demonstrating solidarity with the drivers and their concerns. Accompanied by senior leaders and former ministers from the BRS party, he expressed strong dissatisfaction with the government’s approach to addressing the grievances of the drivers during this impactful demonstration held at Dharna Chowk near Indira Park.

During the Mahadharna organized by the auto drivers and the Private Transport JAC, KTR highlighted the dire circumstances faced by auto drivers across the state. He listened attentively as an auto driver shared how the free bus services have harmed their livelihoods, reflecting a broader issue of economic strain on this community.

KTR also criticized the Congress party for not delivering on any of Rahul Gandhi’s promises, pointing out that under Congress rule in Telangana, there has been a troubling increase in farmer suicides, a crisis now extending to auto drivers as well. His remarks resonate with the growing concerns of those affected by the current policies, urging a reevaluation of the government’s initiatives to better support all citizens.
