BC Commission constitutes To Finalise BC Reservations In Telangana Local Bodies

The Telangana state government has constituted a dedicated commission to finalize BC reservations in local bodies in the state. The government has stated in its order that this special commission will be headed by retired IAS Busani Venkateswara Rao. BC Gurukula Society Secretary B. Saidulu has been appointed as the secretary of the dedicated commission.

The government’s Chief Secretary B. Venkatesham issued an order on Monday to constitute a special commission to this effect. The government has constituted this commission on the orders of the High Court. According to Article 340 of the Constitution and the judgments of the Supreme Court, the High Court has made it clear that there should be a dedicated commission to conduct a census of BCs for the creation of BC reservations in politics.

A social, economic, education, employment and caste survey will begin in the state from the 6th of this month. In this context, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has said that the court verdicts should be followed to avoid any future difficulties and legal implications regarding BC reservations.

The CM has already made it clear that the High Court verdict should be taken into consideration and the process should be taken forward. The government has ordered this commission to conduct a comprehensive study on the reservations and submit a report within a month. This commission will study the backwardness of the backward classes and the contemporary conditions.

 It has been said that help can be taken from various organizations and individuals to collect the necessary information and statistics for this commission. It has been stated that cooperation can be taken from central and state government offices, public sector undertakings, universities and other institutions.

The commission can get their services by holding meetings with experts and researchers. The order states that special orders will be issued regarding the staff required for the commission, the salaries paid to them and other infrastructure.
