Kakani Govardhan Reddy, a former minister, has strongly rebutted claims made by the ruling coalition regarding the recent car accident involving Y.S. Jagan’s mother, Vijayamma. He criticized Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan for their disrespectful remarks and their tendency to involve personal and familial issues in political discourse.
During his response, Kakani questioned whether Naidu and Kalyan regarded the tragic deaths of NTR and Jr. NTR in car accidents as conspiracies as well. He recalled an incident when Pawan Kalyan expressed fears for his safety after a girl crossed the street near his residence, asking if they had conveniently forgotten this event. Kakani also pointed out Pawan’s earlier promise to ensure the safety of Y.S. Sharmila, challenging the Deputy Chief Minister’s motives and questioning the necessity of such protection.
In addition to addressing the accident controversy, Kakani Govardhan Reddy took the coalition government to task over its free gas cylinder initiative. He labeled the program a “super flop,” noting that out of 1.47 crore ration cards issued in the state, only 50 lakh beneficiaries received the promised assistance, leaving many families unsupported. Furthermore, he criticized the policy that requires individuals to pay upfront for gas cylinders, only to be reimbursed later, calling it a clear betrayal of public trust. Kakani expressed his deep disappointment, asserting that the coalition government is again failing to deliver on its commitments to the people.
