CM Chandrababu Asks To Impose A Fine of Rs 5 lakh If Liquor sold At Higher prices or To Belt shops

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has given clear instructions to the officials asking them to impose a fine of Rs 5 lakh for liquor shops if liquor is sold at more than MRP prices or sold to belt shops, Conducting a review on liquor prices and sand availability, he warned that if they committed same mistake again the licence of the shop should be revoked.

Chandrababu also directed them not to allow belt shops under any circumstances and action should be taken if  anyone is promoting belt shops. The CM ordered to be strict on liquor coming from other areas and to ensure that NDPL (Non Duty Paid Liquor) does not come. Officials have been directed to take strict action in the case of ID (illicitly distilled) liquor.

Chandrababu directed that every shop should have CCTV cameras and also set up a toll-free number for complaints.

He suggested setting up a central monitoring system to monitor these two systems. He said that there should be a price table of liquor at every shop. He asked to carry out surprise checks at liquor shops and raids on illegal stocks of liquor.

Chandrababu said that the availability of sand should be increased and necessary arrangements should be made to easily transport sand from all reaches. He made it clear to the officials that not a single lorry of sand can be moved to the neighboring states.

He warned that if it is known that irregularities are happening anywhere in the matter of sand, the concerned authorities will be held responsible first. He said that the government has a clear policy regarding liquor policy and sand and it is the responsibility of the officials to see that it is properly implemented up to the field level. The CM made it clear to the officials that whoever acts to line the pockets of the people should not be ignored.
