It seems that Panuganti Chaitanya, the main accused in the case of attack on TDP central office, admitted in the CID interrogation that the key leaders of YSRCP had provoked him and sent him to attack the TDP central office, saying that if the TDP leaders insult Jagan, whom we admire, how can we remain silent?
However, his replies were said to be evasive on several key questions during the three-day custody and simply replied he had forgotten. What is the purpose of the attack on TDP central office? Who are the YSRCP leaders who provoked the attack? To such questions he has reportedly admitted that he attacked the TDP office to physically assault TDP leader Pattabhi. As Pattabhi insulted their supreme leader, he said he was provoked by the party key leaders to attack him.
Interestingly, he told the police that he did not even know who Pattabhi was until the actual attack, and that YSRCP leaders had told him about the attack. However, he continues to keep silent about the key leaders who provoked him, despite being repeatedly asked.
It is learned that Panuganti Chaitanya said during the CID investigation that before the attack on the TDP central office, the main leaders of the party met at the YSRCP office. Chaitanya is reportedly to have said that he was at the Guntur Naaz Center with his followers Thiyyagura Gopi Reddy, Peruri Ajay, Ramishetti Vishal and others at 3 pm on the day of the attack on the TDP office.
It seems that Chaitanya confessed in front of the authorities that then YSRCP leader Nune Umamaheswar Reddy called and instructed him to go to YSRCP central office in Tadepalli immediately. He also revealed Umamaheswara Reddy’s followers went to Tadepalli in a car when they came to the Naz Center.
It seems that Umamaheswara Reddy and another man with a beard were in the car at that time. It is learned that the main leaders of the party were there when they went to the YSRCP office.
Chaitanya has reportedly explained to the police that he went to attack the TDP office along with 200 workers who were already ready there on the orders of the leaders who participated in the meeting.
It seems that Chaitanya has confessed before the authorities that he had attacked the people in the TDP office with iron rods, sticks and stones and that he had planned to attack Pattabhi who insulted Jagan. It is reported that Devineni Avinash and some others came to Mangalagiri to observe the manner of the attack and the Mangalagiri Rural CI, who came there at that time, admitted during the investigation that he attacked a constable.
