Now It Is clear Jagan- Sharmila war only For properties!

Thursday, October 24, 2024

The `war of letters’ between former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and APCC President YS Sharmila have exposed they differed on sharing of properties, accumulated by their late father Dr YS Rajasekhar Reddy, but nothing to do with their political paths.  Moreover, the appearance of Sharmila’s letter on TDP social media is surprising.

Sharmila reacted sharply against Jagan’s letter stating that he will not abide by his earlier promise regarding the transfer of assets as she is criticizing him politically and damaging his reputation. Strongly responding to his letter, she accused him of breaking their father’s world.

She alleged that her brother is disobeying the order of their father Rajasekhar Reddy to distribute the assets acquired during his lifetime equally to his grandson and granddaughters (Numbered 4). In her letter, she warned that legal action would be taken if the assets were not distributed equally as per the father’s wishes.

Interestingly, their mother Vijayalakshmi also signed on her letter written to Jagan on 12th of last month. She mentioned in the letter that my father had clearly ordered to give equal share to his grandson and grandson in Bharathi Cements, Sakshi and other companies started before his death.

Jagan also agreed to that. Sharmila further said that Amma (Vijayamma) was not only a witness to the discussions and transactions between them, but also closely observed what happened.  Sharmila strongly objected to Jagan’s recent letter to her.  Some of her concerns expressed in the letter:

1. I strongly object to your recent letter to me. It is to remind you that our late father had categorically ordered that all the assets acquired from family resources during his lifetime should be distributed equally among his four grandsons. You agreed to that command, and assured him and us that you would keep his word. But, after our late father’s death, you refused to abide by that commitment.

2. The properties mentioned in the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) as being transferred to me with “love and affection” were, in fact, only in partial fulfillment of our father’s orders. I must emphasize “partial” because you insist on retaining majority stakes in Bharathi Cements and Sakshi. But since you had the upper hand, you bulldozed your way through and we agreed to a settlement as stated in the MOU. As you are my elder brother, I have agreed to give up my equal share for the settlement of family disputes. Thus, as per the MoU executed on 31.08.2019, only certain properties were allotted to me.

3. You have now chosen to file cases against your own mother and to grab the properties to which your own sister and her children are entitled under the MoU. I wonder how far you have strayed from the path of our great Father.

4. Now, contrary to our father’s wishes and your efforts, you have unilaterally tried to terminate the MoU. Legally your letter is against the MoU and has no sanctity, but the spirit behind your letter hurts me. It undermines every ideal of our late father. You have done something our father never imagined- sued his beloved wife (our mother) and daughter (myself) to grab the legitimate assets of his family.

5. On Saraswati Power designated as part of my share as per MOU, you have promised to transfer all its shares to me immediately after signing the MOU agreement. However, you have failed to fulfill this promise over the years. Further, after getting the shares belonging to mother -Bharti and Sandur, you gifted the rest of the shares – complete with folio numbers as detailed in the gift deeds signed by you and your wife. It is not right for you to complain. You have executed gift deeds giving full rights to Saraswati Power shares to our mother.

Finally, she expressed her desire that “I still hope and pray that you will rise above the depths to which you have fallen morally to fulfill our late father’s wishes and abide by the MoU. If you choose not to do so, I fully reserve my rights to seek appropriate legal remedies. Verify the accuracy of these facts”.
