Thursday, October 24, 2024

The Telangana High Court conducted a hearing on a petition filed by Praja Shanti Party President K.A. Paul, challenging demolitions in Hyderabad without issuing notices under FTL (Full Tank Level) and buffer zone regulations. Paul requested the court to halt the demolitions, which were reportedly being carried out without prior notice.

The court directed the authorities to stop the demolitions until proper notices are served and ordered that adequate time be provided to the affected individuals to seek alternatives. K.A. Paul presented his arguments in person, urging the court to ensure that demolitions proceed only after rehabilitating the victims of the Musi project.

In response, the Additional Advocate General stated that the demolitions were occurring only after housing had been allocated to the Musi project victims. The court then instructed the state government and Hyderabad authorities to submit a detailed counter-affidavit with all relevant information.
