A tollywood producer Burugapally Sivaramakrishna was arrested by Osmania University police, after the apex court confirmed him of grabbing thousands of crores rupees worth government land creating forgery documents. He was the producer for films like Venkatesh’s Premante Idera,  Mahesh Babu’s Yuva Raju, Ravi Teja’s Daruvu and Uday Kiran’s Sriram.

Besides him, Chandrasekhar, a senior assistant at Archaeology department’s Research Institute and builder Lingam GOud, who assisted him in creating fake documents. They were sent for remand.

According to the police, Zarina Parveen, Director of Telangana State Archives and Research Institute filed a complaint with the CCS in August this year that movie producer Sivaramakrishna had occupied 83 acres of land in survey number 46 of Rayadurgam, which belongs to the Telangana State Archives and Research Institute.

The police registered zero FIR on this, and transferred it to OU PS as it was a case of land grabbing. OU Police started an investigation and arrested the accused on 17th of this month. Meanwhile, the Archeology Department has about 43 million worth of records from Bahmani and Deccan dynasties, Qutub Shahi, Adila Shahi, Shah Jahan period to Meghulu and Asaf Jahi period.

During digitization of records, Pahani and Setwars of 83 acres of land in Rayadurgam and 10 acres of land in Yachara in Ibrahimpatnam area have gone missing. It was found that these lands were occupied by film producer Sivaramakrishna.

In 2003, it was found that Sivaramakrishna tamed K. Chandrasekhar, who was working as a record assistant in the department since 1993, and destroyed the documents in the records with his cooperation.

With that, the then government suspended Chandrasekhar and filed a case in the high court. But Sivaramakrishna, who forged the documents through Chandrasekhar, with the help of Maragoni Lingam Goud, a famous builder, changed them in his name and created fake documents and submitted the documents to the court claiming that the 83 acres of land belonged to him.

The case has reached the Supreme Court as the government has been fighting in the court for several years. After a long legal battle of 22 years, the Supreme Court of the country found Sivaramakrishna guilty.

In this background, the accused Sivaramakrishna was arrested by the OU police and taken to remand. Currently, the price of land there is estimated to be Rs.100 crore per acre. According to this calculation, land worth Rs.8,300 crore has been captured by the officials. It is learned that the investigation has also intensified on the 10 acres that were seized during the Yachara.
