The latest heartwarming drama “Meiyazhagan,” starring Karthi and Arvind Swamy, which is released under the title ‘Satyam Sundaram’ in Telugu, hit the theaters on September 27. Recently, the film completed 25 days from its theatrical release. After a successful 25-day run in cinemas, it still continues to perform well.
With nearly one month of its theatrical release, Meiyazhagan is gearing up for its digital debut. It will be released on popular streaming platform Netflix on October 27 and will be available not just in Telugu and Tamil but also in Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi languages. Having garnered positive feedback in cinemas, the film is expected to receive a similar reception on OTT platforms.
The story revolves around Arumozhi Varman, a 40-year-old man who returns to his hometown for unavoidable reasons after 22 years of literally being abandoned from his village. The emotional bond that developed with his cousin and how their lives change as their bond strengthens is what the story is about.
Directed by C. Prem Kumar of ’96’ fame, this emotional drama was produced by Suriya and Jyothika under the banner of 2D Entertainments. Sri Divya plays the female lead, along with a talented cast, including Rajkiran, Swati Konde, Devadarshini, Jayaprakash, Sri Ranjani, Karunakaran, Saran, and Rachel Rebecca in significant roles. Govind Vasanth composed the soulful music for this film, with Mahendran Jayaraju’s cinematic visuals, and R. Govindaraj handled the editing.
