A few days ago, the concert of singer Shreya Ghoshal was postponed due to the tragic incident of a female doctor’s murder in West Bengal. Recently, she held the concert as part of her ‘All Hearts Tour’ at the Netaji Indoor Stadium in Kolkata. In response to the incident involving the RG Kar Hospital, Shreya expressed her deep distress, stating that it sent chills down her spine and described the act as brutal, noting that it had a profound impact on her.
During the concert, she performed an emotional song addressing the horrific murder case that shocked the nation, singing, “You are hearing the pain of my injured body today.” Shreya conveyed the suffering and anguish faced by victims in such incidents through this poignant performance. While singing, she requested the audience not to clap, and after the song, the stadium erupted with chants of “We want justice.”
Kunal Ghosh, a leader of the Trinamool Congress party, praised Shreya for her emotional response to the incident, highlighting that she postponed the concert out of compassion. He remarked, “She has touched everyone’s hearts by singing about women’s safety. Protests against such heinous acts are necessary.” Additionally, singer Arijit Singh expressed his support for the protests with a Bengali song, calling for justice for the victim.
