Revanth Reddy Calls on Police to Treat Protesting Students with Respect

Wednesday, April 16, 2025
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy made a plea to students, urging them to call off their protests and focus on preparing for their exams. “Don’t be misled by the words of fraudsters. I also request the police to refrain from behaving inappropriately toward protesting students,” he said. Speaking at the closing ceremony of the Police Duty Meet at the Rajendranagar Academy, the Chief Minister highlighted that frequent postponements of exams are detrimental to students.
He pointed out that in the past, candidates spent years going around coaching centers and libraries preparing for exams, but continuous delays have left them unable to pursue other jobs. Reddy emphasized that the government is now issuing notifications and providing jobs on time, urging the unemployed not to fall for the deceptive words of certain political parties. He reassured that if any rules are changed after notifications are issued, the courts would intervene. He also mentioned that following GO 55 would cause harm to SC, ST, and BC students.
Criticizing the previous government, Reddy questioned their commitment to job recruitment, asking, “Did they ever meet with the unemployed in the last ten years? Did they come to Ashok Nagar and speak with them? Did they call anyone to Pragathi Bhavan?” He concluded by stating that the High Court has endorsed the current exam conduct process.
