Steps have been taken to overhaul Amaravati, the capital city of Andhra Pradesh, as Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has again set the area on fire with construction activities. Revival took off with the CRDA office project near Uddandarayunipalem in Thullur mandal wherein Naidu and Minister Narayana performed a ceremonial puja to mark the occasion.

During the previous TDP government from 2014 to 2019, around ₹160 crores were sanctioned for developing a seven-story CRDA office, of which the laying of the foundation stone took place in the year 2017. Construction now remains stalled after the change of Government. Presently construction is in progress for a G+7 structure on 3.62 acres on which besides 2.51 acres have been earmarked for parking and landscaping. However, the critical items remain unexecuted architectural finishing work, interior work, and electrical installations.

He declared Amaravati as an important city, thus restating his commitment to the principle of “one state, one capital.” Further, he plans to make Visakhapatnam the state’s commercial capital. He also proposes to have a high court bench located in Kurnool, and increase the industrial upgradation of this region further. Looking at the problems that he faced after the bifurcation of the state, Naidu appreciated the success of the work done while meeting the farmers and convincing them to give up rich land for developing the capital city. Amaravati shall regain its former glory, assured Naidu.

He also clarified that all people of Andhra Pradesh accept Amaravati as the capital. He plans to develop the city with a blue-and-green theme to upgrade its beauty quotient. Highest-ranked universities, schools, and largest corporations will be attracted to Amaravati. And more than that, said Naidu, bullet trains will also connect Amaravati to major cities like Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad. He expressed gratitude for the central government’s support and announced the imminent inauguration of key towers and buildings, urging for accelerated progress in the capital’s construction.
