Government Makes Key Move on ‘Super Six’ Implementation

The politicking in Andhra Pradesh is shifting gear fast and thus indicates national-level alliances. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan last month attended an NDA meeting in Chandigarh. While discussing the prospect of upcoming joint elections, both agreed to step up governance. For that to happen, attempts at implementing the Super Six schemes have begun on the ground. And at the same time, the government has taken an important decision too.

The Andhra Pradesh government wants to fulfill its election promises and is fast approaching the deadline. In nearly one year of having come into power, the state has not yet presented a proper budget to the house, creating much flak in the political circle. In order to overcome this situation, the government is making arrangements to announce an all-party budget during the second week of November. It was the earlier YSR Congress government that had submitted a vote-on-account budget since polls were there, and the alliance government that is in existence already has also come out with an interim budget. Now, the administration would be ready to carry on with full budget, and the submissions are taken in advance for the Assemblage officials. The alliance government has decided to present the budget only after doing the thorough appraisal of all the fiscal scenarios during their regime.

As a part of this, an interim budget was presented in July, along with white papers that try to concentrate on each of the critical sectors. The new budget is likely to focus more on funding promises for items spelt out during the campaign of elections. The officials have estimated that about ₹12,000 crores might be needed for the “Thalli Ki Vandanam” initiative, before the fag end of the existing fiscal. The budget promises to reveal details about new pension schemes and ration cards. The Super Six schemes are to be fully fulfilled as the government plans to present a budget for ₹2.90 lakh crores. Beginning with this Diwali, a scheme to provide three free cylinders per annum is to start with the government.

Besides this, the government has also planned to make free bus rides available for women in the state during Sankranti. Besides this, the “Thalli Ki Vandanam” programme will also be launched as well. The budget this time would concentrate on clarity over the priority areas for the government. Considering this, finance officials of the governments have begun preparing their task list.
